IRCC releases information on the process for paper-based Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applications for Permanent Residency affected by COVID-19 job loss.

September 17, 2020 - IRCC releases information on the process for paper-based Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applications for Permanent Residency affected by COVID-19 job loss.

As part of IRCC’s response to COVID-19, a new facilitative measure has been introduced for paper-based Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applications with a job offer stream. Effective from September 17, 2020 to November 17, 2020, it enables provincial and territorial jurisdictions to request that a PNP application be placed on hold in cases where an applicant has experienced a job loss in Canada as a result of the pandemic. This measure aims to provide applicants with time to regain employment.
